SENIOR ESTIMATOR
Waterpark estimators work in a fast paced environment assembling costs and estimates for projects during the sales and project budgeting phases. Estimators must work under pressure to complete estimates in a timely manner and use their judgment to estimate costs when a limited basis for estimate is available.
The Senior Estimator will lead this group of estimators, assign new estimates, review completed estimates, escalate risky request for proposals to the Risk Review Committee before estimates for same are sent to sales and ensure that the estimating system reflect current industry practices and standards.

CONSTRUCTION ESTIMATOR
Our client is a multi-disciplined industrial construction company that has been in continuous operations for over 55 years and performs work throughout Canada. Due to growth and expansion of projects and the company,
they are looking for a Construction Estimator.
The key responsibility of this position is the estimating of construction and Maintenance Overload RFP's and
RFQ's. To prepare high quality proposals for construction work which are consistent with the company's profit
objectives, are competitive, and which utilize to the fullest advantage the expertise of the construction division. Day to day supervision of this position is the responsibility of the Chief Estimator.
Responsibility
- To receive tenders from the Chief Estimator and perform the requirements as assigned to fully complete
the estimate and tender proposal
- To analyze tender requests, and organize the necessary work to complete and communicate with the
Chief Estimator to ensure that necessary assistance is provided to complete the estimate in a timely and
accurate manner
- Collection of all pertinent data and information for each job to be quoted. This included visit(s) to site,
liaison with engineers, client representatives, project managers, etc.
- To ensure that the RFQ document has been reviewed for all items such as scope, GC's, special conditions,
etc. and this info shared with the Chief Estimator for forwarding to senior management for risk analysis.
Also ensure that all items are allowed for in estimate or clearly clarified/qualified in bid submission
- To ensure the timely submission of the completed proposals to the Chief Estimator for
review/forwarding to the client within prescribed timelines
- Provide assistance to the Construction Overload and Maintenance division as directed by the Chief
Estimator
- Attend training courses/seminars as required to stay current in field and to develop new skills
- Perform other duties as assigned or assumed on personal initiative with approval from manager
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 to 7 years working in the construction industry in a similar role
- Proficiency with Word and Excel and related estimating software
- Analytical abilities a must
- Knowledge of Timberline Estimating would be an asset
- Affinity for working with numbers is critical
- A sound understanding and technical foundation in various building types, traditional subcontractor
work scopes, construction systems and methods, construction specifications, tendering practices and
contract types
- Preference will be given to those with or those pursuing QS certification
- Bachelors or Diploma in Construction, Building Technology, Project Management, Engineering or
Architecture
